Tape Industry Regulations and Sustainability
Environmental regulations and sustainable development in the adhesive and tape industry continue to be a topic of intense industry concern. Among them, the "dual carbon" goal has become the trend of global sustainable development, and it is also an urgent task that my country's national leaders have promised and urgently need to accomplish. In the face of the challenges of "peak carbon" and "carbon neutrality", we are achieving carbon neutrality in a safe, efficient, economical and sustainable way.
In terms of specific policies, all walks of life in my country have introduced VOC emission restriction measures to effectively reduce VOC emissions and win the battle to defend the blue sky.
In June 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the document "Guiding Opinions on Further Strengthening Safety Production Management in the Industrial Industry". The "Opinions" proposed that the development direction of hazardous chemical enterprises to enter the park should not be shaken, and the standardized development of chemical parks should be promoted.
In January 2020, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued the "Opinions on Further Strengthening the Control of Plastic Pollution", which was called "the strongest plastic restriction order in history". Plastic ban local regulations. In September 2021, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued the "14th Five-Year Plan" Action Plan for Plastic Pollution Control. In terms of specific measures, by the end of 2022, the coastal areas will first prohibit the use of non-degradable plastic packaging bags, disposable plastic woven bags, etc., to reduce the use of non-degradable plastic tapes. By the end of 2025, postal express outlets nationwide will ban the use of non-degradable plastic packaging bags, plastic tapes, and disposable plastic woven bags.
Since 2018, my country has continuously established a green factory system evaluation index system for all walks of life, and put forward general requirements for green factory evaluation. The release of this standard will help guide enterprises to create green factories, promote green industrial transformation and upgrading, and achieve green development.
The limit of formaldehyde, VOC, heavy metals and other harmful substances has always attracted everyone's attention, and our industry has also introduced the most stringent standard and regulatory requirements.
Photovoltaic and wind power are one of the most favorable ways to reduce carbon emissions. my country is also the country with the most complete supporting industry chain of photovoltaic and wind power in the world. Especially at an important moment when the Ministry of Ecology and Environment is strengthening the curb on the construction of "two high" projects (high energy consumption and high emission), the thermal power industry has been focused and restricted, and photovoltaic and wind power will usher in a new round of development opportunities. Technological advancements in our adhesives and adhesive tape industries will strongly support the rapid growth of the photovoltaic and wind power industries.
In terms of market changes, we focus on the rapid growth of lightweight vehicles and new energy vehicles. Compared with traditional cars, the use of lightweight materials in cars will rise from 29% to more than 60% in the next 20 years. In addition, the amount of glue used in new energy vehicle power battery assembly bicycles (pack sealing, structural heat conduction, structural bonding, BMS protection, cell bonding, battery potting, thread locking, shell bonding, etc.) will reach about 5 kg , The sales of bicycles are about 500-1000 yuan, and the glue for automotive electronics will also be the focus of attention.
Adhesives for interior decoration materials will also undergo changes. The first is the revision of two old standards (GB18583 and GB30982). The new standards will further limit their indicators, standardize the development of the industry, and improve the quality of products.
Secondly, the prefabricated building market will continue to expand. As of the end of 2020, a total of 630 million square meters of prefabricated buildings have been newly started across the country, an increase of 50% over 2019, accounting for about 20.5% of the newly built building area. See Figure 1 for details. From the perspective of carbon emissions from energy terminals, compared with cast-in-place buildings, the construction method of prefabricated buildings can save a certain degree of carbon emissions in the production and construction stages of building materials. On the one hand, prefabricated buildings adopt an intensive and large-scale digital production mode. On the other hand, the mechanized installation method was adopted in the later stage, which greatly avoided the occurrence of construction waste, and the energy consumption was reduced by more than 20%, and the advantages of energy saving and emission reduction were obvious.
